WELCOME to my ARTEXPRESSIV BLOG !
This is a place where I am sharing experiences, observations, thoughts and (new!) ideas regarding the innate relationship between ART and the TRUE SELF, also known as the SOUL.
Now, I am aware that this sounds like just- another- airy-fairy- piece- of- gobble-dee-goop to some readers…and artists. But, in actual fact, it is very visible, feel-able and tangible: The inseparable link between ART and SOUL manifests itself negatively and positively through our bodies, behaviour and artistic expressions (or the lack of them!).
I will explore and elaborate on this further throughout this blog. But for now a little blurb…
about MYSELF:
I am an artist and teacher living in the South of England. (see www.silkesavran.com)
I am also a mother, avid yoga and natural health practitioner and a therapeutic facilitator using art as a means for spiritual, emotional and physical healing and well-being.
I have many years of (art-) teaching experience in a variety of roles, venues and countries. Naturally, I have encountered and worked with people of all ages, backgrounds and circumstances. And although every place and person has their own individual story I have over the years witnessed the collective and archetypal struggles/issues/problems of my fellow human beings, which is called ‘The Human Condition’, or in Shamanic terms ‘The Big Wound’.
And, of course, as I am all too human as well, I have (and still am) experienced those struggles as well, first hand! But through my own story of connecting to my TRUE SELF through art, physical expression (yoga, dance, etc.) and a spiritual practice I aim to develop a healing practice which encompasses all of the above in a new way…
This blog is part of the journey…
